Woodmen Town Center Medical Office Building
Colorado Springs, CO
75,000 sf

A group of twelve doctors sought a medical office building designed expressly for their operation. The doctors were so pleased with our design that they increased the project’s size 50% to add a third floor. The main entry is a welcoming two-story space on both primary elevations with common reception/ waiting areas and a centralized examination suite. Adjacent are x-ray and lab areas to minimize patient movement and efficiency.

Individual practice areas are then wrapped around central and support functions on both floors with administrative space on the upper floor.

The exterior is clad in a cleft cut groutless limestone to fit in with the local vernacular. Large smooth limestone lintels and sills visually extend the scale of exterior windows. The windows are shaded on south and west sides with cantilevered sunscreens. The blue tinted glass is complimented by a translucent ceramic frit glass above and spandrel glass below. The glazing capitalizes on the elevation of the site with views to the snow-caped mountains beyond. Large canopies extend out to drop-off curb cuts to shelter patients from the weather.
